A 37-year-old Kansas female was killed aft she backed into a plane's spinning propeller while trying to return photos, officials said.
Amanda Gallagher, a photographer, was connected nan level to threat photos of skydivers connected Saturday afternoon, and she rode nan level backmost down aft nan skydivers jumped, according to Air Capital Drop Zone, wherever nan incident took place.
The level landed astatine nan tract successful Derby, extracurricular of Wichita, and nan adjacent group of jumpers went to board, Air Capital Drop Zone said.
The Cessna 182 was grounded but still running, according to nan Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and nan Federal Aviation Administration.
"For chartless reasons ... she moved successful beforehand of nan wing, a usurpation of basal information procedures," Air Capital Drop Zone said successful a statement. "With her camera up to sprout photos arsenic she did so, she stepped backmost somewhat moving toward and into nan spinning propeller."
Gallagher, of Wichita, was taken to a infirmary wherever she died from her injuries, authorities said.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
