Washington Post proprietor Jeff Bezos defended his publication’s decision not to backmost a statesmanlike candidate up of nan Nov. 5 election, insisting governmental endorsements “create a cognition of bias.”

In an op-ed, Bezos based on his newspaper ending its long-running believe of endorsing a campaigner for nan White House is simply a “principled decision, and it’s nan correct one.”

“Presidential endorsements do thing to extremity nan scales of an election. No undecided voters successful Pennsylvania are going to say, ‘I’m going pinch Newspaper A’s endorsement.’ None,” he wrote.

“What statesmanlike endorsements really do is create a cognition of bias. A cognition of non-independence.”
