Translators association honors English-language editions of Italian prose and French poetry

The English-language translators of an Italian postulation of short stories and a French book of poesy person won awards from nan American Literary Translators Association

NEW YORK -- The English-language translators of an Italian postulation of short stories and a French book of poesy person won awards from nan American Literary Translators Association.

Jamie Richards' translator from nan Italian of Marosia Castaldi's “The Hunger of Women” was fixed nan National Translation Award for prose, and Cole Swensen's translator from nan French of Pierre Alferi's “And nan Street” won nan poesy award.

Each victor receives $4,000. Richards is simply a full-time translator, while Swensen is besides a prize-winning poet, her books including “Goest” and “Gravesend.”

“We are proud to administer nan National Translation Awards, which move nan spotlight connected a number of accomplished translators, writers, and nan publishers who make it imaginable for these marvelous books to look successful English," translator relation president Chenxin Jiang said successful a connection Monday.
