The Miami Heat have their backs against the wall ahead of Friday’s Game 6 battle against the Boston Celtics. The odds are stacked against the Heat but it sounds like they could be given a major boost as they prepare for what is going to be the most important game of their season.

According to a report by NBA insider Keith Smith, the Heat have upgraded the status of Tyler Herro for Friday’s bout. The Sixth Man of the Year has missed the last two games due to a hamstring problem but right now, it seems like there’s a chance that Herro suits up for Game 6:

Tyler Herro was upgraded to questionable for Game 6 on the Heat’s latest injury report.

Kyle Lowry, Max Strus, P.J. Tucker and Gabe Vincent are all also questionable for Game 6.

Herro is still carrying a questionable tag for Friday’s bout, but this is much better than being ruled out completely. When asked about the 22-year-old status, however, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra did not sound very confident in his response:

“I don’t know yet. He still has to do his treatment tonight. We’ll see him tomorrow at shootaround,” coach Spo said on Thursday, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

It’s going to be a race to fitness for Herro and at this point, it is clear that Miami needs all the help it can get for Game 6.
